National Job Fair &
Training Expo Returns to Toronto
Variety of Companies Offering
Employment and Career Opportunities
Toronto – The
National Job Fair & Training Expo, Ontario’s largest and most comprehensive
recruitment event, offers two days of opportunities for all those seeking
employment or who wish to develop their careers through a variety of options.
The Fair, now entering its 13th year of operations, returns to the Metro
Toronto Convention Centre (North Building, Exhibit, Hall C) from April 2-3,
2014.
Being held in Toronto, most exhibitors of The National Job Fair
& Training Expo come from Ontario, but this 24th edition includes several
companies from across Canada with opportunities in Alberta, Saskatchewan,
British Columbia, Manitoba, Quebec as well as Newfoundland and Labrador. It is
a public event, which invites visitors to attend in order to develop their
careers, whether they are looking for a job, self-employment, continuing
education, career training, entrepreneurship services or career services. It is
a business-to-consumer event with some 145 booths presented by more than 110
companies ready and eager to meet with candidates.
New this year is WelcomePack Canada, an organization that
provides services to new Canadians. Every visitor to The National Job Fair
& Training Expo who can provide a Permanent Residence (PR) card that was
issued on or after September 2011 will receive a welcome pack gift box worth
about $1,000. New immigrants can also visit the Siskinds Immigration Group
booth for information on the immigration process.
Toastmasters District 60, a regular to the Fair, made a step
forward to become an Associate Sponsor to manage a new public service at the
fair – The Communication Skills Consulting Centre. Essentially, this new
service provides 12 workshops and private sessions to the visitors interested
in developing their communication skills, whether it is for public speaking, presentations,
event hosting, group facilitation or confidence building. Communication skills
can make a huge difference in a job interview and the work environment often
requires these qualifications.

banking, real estate, finance, chemical, manufacturing, construction,
education, marketing, law enforcement, distribution, retail, insurance, administration,
transportation, accounting, management, engineering, mining, telecommunications,
skilled trades, non-profit, marketing and sale, to name a few.
